Device Deep Dives
A proven, scan-based CGM for adults and children aged 4+ managing Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Reliable accuracy with optional real-time alerts.
Abbott offers the Freestyle Libre 2, a continuous glucose monitoring system. A bit sensor attached to the back of your upper arm measures your glucose every minute and can retain up to 8 hours of information. To get readings, scan the sensor with your smartphone or the optional reader device.
No regular fingerstick calibration is required. The gadget also enables optional real-time alerts for high glucose, low glucose, and signal loss, allowing your phone to notify you without requiring a scan. It is FDA-approved for adults and children aged 4 and up.
Abbott's most advanced CGM. The world's smallest sensor with real-time automatic glucose readings every minute — no scanning needed at any point.
The Freestyle Libre 3 Plus is the world's smallest CGM sensor and Abbott's most advanced CGM device. It doesn’t need any scanning unlike the Libre 2. Your glucose levels are automatically given to your smartphone every minute of the day, without you doing anything.
It has a MARD of 7.9%, customisable high and low glucose alarms and is fully compatible with iPhone and Android via the FreeStyle LibreLink app, offering increased accuracy over the Libre 2. The sensor is factory calibrated and is ready for use after a 60 minute warm-up time.
